In 2006, Scotland reached one of its lowest point in many years, with only 233,550 golfers, a decrease of -10,54%. In 2007, Scotland came back strongly with a growth of 10,10% compared with 2006, but in the years after that until 2012 numbers in Scotland are still decreasing. 2012 was a critical year for Scotland reaching its lowest point of number of golfers in 12 years with only 230,186 golfers.
The forecasts for 2013 show more negative numbers for the growth of golf in Scotland.
